Course Overview

When being served at a venue bar we expect great service from its staff. Through our Venue Bar Training we teach a candidate how to optimise essential skills in order to run a smooth and successful bar. This course suits anyone starting in hospitality (wanting to improve employability), existing venue staff wanting to improve their standards or any enthusiast with a keen interest in bar work.

  • Preparation and organisation of a venue bar
  • Types of bars and venues
  • How to find success in the on trade
  • Product knowledge both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Guest interaction
  • Communication behind the bar
  • Licensing law
  • Set up and breakdown procedures

 

Course structure and duration

The one-day course includes theory and practical assessment with the tutor. Hours are from 09.00 to 16.00hrs including breaks and 45 minutes for lunch, it also allows for candidates to stay longer to practise. Classes will have a maximum of 20 students at a time.

Assessment

There are no exams for this course. It will however be assessed throughout the day by grading each candidates practical abilities, which will enable to help the candidate see what he or she has achieved so far. An Off to Work certificate will be provided, with course details as we recognise and are committed to the National Skills Pledge.

What is included in the cost?

All course material and refreshments. Cost per person is £120 including VAT.
