COSSH - Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Awareness

Course Overview

In the work environment health and safety is becoming more and more important for the well being of the employers and employees. COSHH is designed (as a compliment to the Health and Safety in the workplace award) to prepare in the safe use of hazardous substances or equipment  to those individuals who may need to use Personal Protective Equipment, and who may encounter Substances Hazardous to Health as part of their work.

Course structure and duration

The half-day course includes theory and assessments with the tutor. Hours are from 09.00 to 13.00hrs including breaks. Classes will have a maximum of 16 students at a time.

Assessment

There are no exams for this course. It will however be assessed throughout the day. An Off to Work certificate will be provided as the course follows Chartered Institute of Environmental Health guidelines. Course details shall be provided in the certificate as we recognise and are committed to the National Skills Pledge.

What is included in the cost?

All course material and refreshments. Cost per person is £75 including VAT.

 

What do you get out of it?

Employers, however small or big their company might be, can be assured to be taking the correct measures to protect their staff and follow the Control of substances hazardous to health regulations 2002.

Individuals can be assured of learning how hazardous substances affect health and how to take sensible steps to protect their own health and improve their work conditions.

It will contribute to better communication between employees and their managers or supervisors in regards safe procedures.
